- Insert the two 384 mm smooth rods (1 dot) through the LM8UU bearings on the X-axis carriage sub-assembly
- Affix the X-axis motor sub-assembly and the X-axis idler sub-assembly to the X-axis carriage sub-assembly
- Clamp the belt on the right side of the X-axis carriage using the following assembly order
- Run the belt through the motor gear, around the 608ZZ bearing, and back to the X-axis carriage
- Affix the belt to the carriage using the following assembly order
- Belt clamp (round recesses) with M3x22 mm bolts
- Belt
- X-axis carriage
- Belt
- Belt clamp (hex recesses) with M3 nuts
- The belt clamp assembly from stage 5 will allow for variable belt tensioning. At the moment, the belt should be left slack
This blog is intended to serve as a simple, straight-forward guide for building and using your own 3D printer. I created and continually update this blog for a simple reason: the current state of 3D printing is confusing and I feel that this discourages new enthusiasts.
